Hey guys,

I recently bought an Imperial Officer's Sword with engraved name date of birth and dates of service. I am aware that the engraving was probably made after WW2 as a personal trophy of the officer on his Imperial sword or something like that.

Can anyone help me where or how to research this guy to get his bio? I'm looking for the dates of promotion, of the names of the ships he served on and the date of his death.
