Default UWO - UnIdentified Weird Object

    Good day Gents
I wanted to put this question and weird object here for the global community to give feedback on.

This is nothing Militaria that I know of and was forwarded to me by a close friend after it was found in a box of silver ware.
It does appear to be either silver or silver plate due to the present tarnish seen in the photo.

Any Ideas what this thing is ?

    Regards Larry

    That is a challenge!

Perhaps some type of regulator part from an old Bunsen burner or gas lamp?

Does the knurled knob turn? Is it a gas regulator type of valve?

Might have been a warming tray burner. ???
