My Father who served in the RAF between 1941 and 1946.
His cousin, my second cousin John Wilson Cawte who was killed in Normandy and lies in an unknown grave.
His name is on the Bayeux Memorial and he also has a memorial in Godshill Church on the Isle of Wight where he was from.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
I come from a long line of vets. It's because of them that I developed such
an interest in military history even at a young age.
I never met Percy, he died long before I ever heard of him, however his widow
became a very dear friend when I was in my teens. It was because she knew of
my interest in military history that on my 16th birthday, she gave me my first
real collectible relics that were ww1 bring back items.
Thank you Percy for your service.
Berdie -- I miss you.
