This has been good so far. Non-fiction, but the veteran's writing style is quite lyrical. Reminds me a bit of the writing style of Tim O'Brien in The Things They Carried. My parents go to church with a Vietnam veteran that was in this same recon team with the author.

I'm about a third of the way through this book, The War Below by James Scott. It has been very good so far. It details the story of three US submarines, Silversides, Drum, and Tang, in the Pacific War during WWII.
