I’ve read a few since the last time I posted but this is the current one. I’m 50 pgs in and it’s a good one!
I had this on pre-order and it arrived this week. I’ve included the contents page and the front piece.

On June 17, 1940, the British ocean liner, RMS Lancastria, was sunk during Operation Aerial.
RMS Lancastria had sailed to the French port of St. Nazaire to aid in the evacuation of British and French soldiers, civil servants and British civilians after the fall of Dunkirk. The ship was loaded well in excess of its capacity— the consequences of which were felt when a German fighter plane flew overhead and catastrophically attacked the Lancastria.
I little known maritime disaster that surpasses the suffering on the Titanic & Lusitania. Anyone with an interest in Maritime history should read this.

Jahrbuch des Reichsarbeitsdienstes 1937/38
Author: Müller-Brandenburg
Publisher: Volk und Reich Verlag Berlin 1937
The font makes the translation easier, and it contains a period view of the Reichsarbeitsdienst seldom encountered in other publications.
I'd rather be A "RaD Man than a Mad Man "
Just finished reading this fantastic book, informative & very well researched & I think gives an honest account, based on the many sources .

Re-reading Band of Brothers and Beyond Band of Brothers for the third time. I always like a read like this (Normandy) around May/June. Especially Major Winters' book to me is a touching, no-nonsense eye-witnessing story. He mentions several other books written by Easy members. Still need to search the net for these in ePub format.
Highly recommendable; these add so much more to the romanticized series! By the way, not a bad word about the series; to me, it's still the best of his kind. Pacific, Masters of the Air, all good series but not close to the story of Easy companie. Of course, that is a personal opinion.
You need to read this too Martin3.
