    Hello,
I have an old handle of a hand grenade.
He was found in the water. He is wet and decayed.
The finder put it in sugar water (?) Why?
How can I take care of him? The finder says he could shrink and become fragile.
What should I do? Let it dry or rub with oil?

    Many Thanks

I would let it dry down a bit and then cover it in Cuprinol wood hardener which will bond the wood together with the resin compound.

I do not know if I should accept that. Maybe the wood is too old.
Or do you think it's a good deal?

A bit of a risk I would think. Preserving water logged wood is a specialist conservation process. Is it worth the trouble?

    I let it dry slowly.
Now he burst. Quickly wet again.
I sprinkle it with oil every day.
Now he is blanching. I will always reduce the oil.
    Lets see what happens.
