I’ve been cleaning up a pretty horrible condition relic helmet and let it sit in oxalic acid a while, any ideas as to how I should clean the acid off? Should I just let it soak in water for a while?

I’ve always just rinsed it off with water, some soap and water I’d imagine wouldn’t hurt either.
Maybe some photos would help to give you a much better advise
Thanks for the help, and yeah I’d post a photo but I’m using my phone and can’t figure out how to attach a photo lol, it’s in a pretty disgusting condition but I’m proud of it because I’ve been able to bring back a lot of the original paint
