    I bet these are going to turn out to be great restorations. Good luck and take plenty of pics along the way!

    I am leaning toward SS SD and slate grey...

    From left to right;
    1. Cam. Black Green
    2. German Green (field grey)
    3. Black Green
    4. Grey Green
    5. RLM 70 Black Green
    6. Nato Black (slate grey)

    And Krylon Black Textured Finish for a nice rough surface.

    1st and 2nd pattern is a misnomer. What you have there are Pocher-ish and ET-ish decals. Scientific terms

    Have fun with the resto!

    If you intend to paint the helmet a satin black , you should'nt use a textured finish, a true blackie had a smooth finish

    Plus Im not 100% sure but i think the black painted helmets were either M17s or M35s, im not too sure but i think some M42s were a rough textured green grey for use by Waffen SS and field police and many M42s were a rough textured SS grey used by Waffen SS and field police, a black satin finish helmet M17 or M35 would normally be associated with the Allegemeine SS, but the persons who could confirm this should comment here

    I think there are a couple of legit M40 blackies, if I remember Doug saying. Crazy rare though. I'd make these two textured dark grey
