Two parts of the antenna for the mighty Panther.

Hopefully, when cleaned up and undone, the old rubber will be replaced.

Once the three big screws have been opened, the new part should fit in to place.

This antenna is situated on the rear deck, next to the turret by the left grill.

Should look quite decent when finished..

But problems arise.. (well, it IS New Years Eve )

The rubber bottom end, is too big for the hole in the base plate

    How can that be?

Both the cut down older piece and the new rubber one are both the same width size.

Just the inside bottoms are different?

Could different manufacturers have made the parts..

    Default Markings.

Well, we have "found" some markings and a Waffenamt..

    Looks like to me:

AQA with the date 44 under it.

In between, it seems to be a N 1 (?)..

    The Waffenamt to the right has a Letter/number A 838 (?)

    Default Test Run.

A test run shows the center part sticking out underneath the base plate.

May be it's so it can come in contact with the Panther's inside circular deck mounting?

2nd picture shows it back together again after 76 years, in a proper state..

Needs a bit of a final clean up though.
