I just enjoyed RustyRelics video this morning and thought I would post the results I got several days ago also using acetone on the formerly light green CKL 5645 I've had for a couple of years.
Leather parts are not original but I think the late war slate grey is.
    Interested to hear your thoughts.

Good job. Looks much better than with that post war paint job. Well done!

    I agree - a good save!
Do you think the white residue is original?

    Thank you Andy and Dan.
There were tiny spots of white on the inside of the skirt which were present before acetone applied and remained afterwards.

Great results! I'm glad my advice worked, I was worried it wouldn't for some folks.

My next video will be the restoration/refurbishing of an M40 Ex-Luftwaffe helmet.

Nice job, not sure if I can see any texture but overall definitely better than before!

    Thanks Luis.
As you say there is no texture at all,I'm unsure what to expect so late in production.

Mate, you wont see any texture that late in production, lucky to see much paint, ( and if you believe in the "dichromate" theory Brian Ice does , then no paint at all!! )
