    Hello,
I recently bought this French m26 Adrian helmet. I'm fairly certain that the badge on the front is a re-production, and I'm also a little concerned about the very shiny steel of the crown (visible in places where the paint has chipped). The helmet itself seems to be genuine, though it appears to have been re-painted (a darker green coat is visible under the olive green). What are your thoughts on this?

Also, would anyone know what the "B" on the inside signifies?

    Thanks.

Hello, I think B is the weight of the helmet : 1 kilog.

I like it as it is. The comb is made of aluminium and so it does scratch easily. I think the badge is original and circa 1937/38. Don't think they are faking them but you never know. Thought that B was a reference to the size rather than weight.

Don't mess with it. It is fine.

it has a post war liner, the wartime liners were black leather, this has the black vinyl type, and the badge was probably added later to boost sales, not properly attached, it should be flat against the shell, the importer / store probably added it

wartime M26 usually had a brass chinstrap attaching piece with a nut

    Hello,

The shell is a nice early JAPY production in size B (Medium).

Shinstrap, liner and M37 badge were added later on.
