Great post Jack top stuff with your superb Japanese helmets and camo covers ,if memory serves the Chinese camo you show was for infantry Marines but don't quote me on that and the North Korean insignia aside from the commie star reminds me very much of the East German flag roundel give or take a hammer and sickle or compass or two

Hi James, thanks for your nice comments. Your memory is good for the "happy dog"camo. This design may also have been worn by Naval Infantry stationed on the Nansha Island and Reef in the 1990s. As per the North Korean insignia, the wreath of wheat is a bit strange

Default Australian DCP helmet cover, another victim of the Multican steamroller!

Hi everyone, here is one of my favourite pattern, so I've beef up my presentation a bit.
First field-tested in 1980, and later by the Special Air Service Regiment in 1984, the Australian Disruptive Camouflage Pattern (DCP) was officially introduced in 1985.

The canteen cover is a bonus, enjoy.

the covers are still AUSCAM.Helmets and Camo covers

I've presented most of my covers for now, don't worry I won't
fade away, I'll be back with new ones or whenever
I find a pretext to do so.

Default Tribute to the DPM pattern.

Simply have to pay tribute to the this marvel of camouflage pattern.
    The Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM).

Introduced the 60s & worn by british soldiers for more than 45 years.
This pattern set the pace for camouflage pattern, its success can be recognized
by its pattern being adopted & copied by numerous countries.

Seen here in all its magnificence. Helmet covers for the MK 5 helmet were not mass issued.
More than often hessian, net & scrim were used as camouflage & sometime as this example, jacket hood.
    Helmets and Camo covers

Standard helmet covers were issued with the MK 6 helmet introduced in 1987.
The original DPM covers had only the lateral elastic foliage loops, the vertical ones
    were added later.

The concept of having a specific camouflage pattern for British military deployment
to arid or desert regions was first seriously considered in the 1980s.
A four-color desert colorway DPM was tested but finally not adopted because of fear of confusion,
DPM uniforms having been sold to Irak in more friendly times! First Golf War, British troops
did receive a desert pattern Afterall. This is one of multiple models since.
