That's Fine Steve and i understand ,as for posting up as and when time permits ,i wanted to comment sooner on your last post that you put on here earlier this week but had to wait till today to respond properly and didn't want to stray to far off the IDF topic but thought it was of interest to me regarding the french otan used by motorized troops and to help me with my notes on different helmet's posted up ,sometimes you have to strike while the iron is hot before things move on and forgotten about ,i look forward to your next post to this thread

This photo shows a tank commander with M1 shell back to front, below it you can see the M38 tank helmet, photo was taken in 1967 in a victory parade.

Not many MkIIs posted here so I thought I would add a recent pick up.

Repainted British MKII shell with burlap cover and net, Israeli copy of the liner and chinstrap.
Its certainly been together in this configuration for years, I’ve not attempted to remove the cover beyond trying to see if it was a British or South African shell.

One more for HSAT for the pile, I should stop buying them but they are hard to resist.
It’s not a stunning example but its hard to find them with the original BMB liner and I managed to get it for a reasonable price.

It’s been repainted, an unusual green for the IDF, I don’t have any doubts about it, it was done some time ago and probably had a cover on it during its service.







The liner is not in great shape, some of the sorbo rubber is like coal and fragile. It's been refitted with the securing bolts reversed.



It had MkII cruciform pad screwed to the crown of the shell, but that’s perished.



Chinstrap is the original British pattern with BMB 1943 stamp.

I have still to add one to my collection

Israeli 601 AFV helmet, it’s taken me some time to get my hands on one of these. It’s a US made T65-6 that is Israeli used, not sure where the 601 designation comes from, but I have it in at least two books.













The letter Gimel on the side is for ‘large’ size.



One thing I like about this one is that the communications set is made by Tadiran, an Israeli company, probably made under license as they saw service longer than in the US.



It came with the wires pulled out so I had to do some reconnecting to inside and out to get it back to looking it’s best, the mike was missing the replacement is a period original.

looks like Orlite / "M76" ...the inside/label should help you establish if its Israeli or dressed-up export model (Irish etc).....
