    Default Japanese Defense Force Helmet

It seems like collectors refer to all Japanese M1 helmet copies as "Type 66" but these helmets actually existed before 1966. As far as I can tell, helmets started being produced in the early 1950s. Japanese shells have a number (thought to be corresponding to date of manufacture) and makers mark on them. As far as I can tell, the number is 32 (for Showa 32-> 1957) and the remains of the Kawasaki Steel emblem is just barely visible. The chinstrap on the shell is a PX design from the 70s-80s.
