BTW, we do have a pretty skilled colleague here in the WRF, who´s very specialized in helmets and bayonets, (Sleepwalker):

Hi,
I recently bought this helmet in a "good" size (58) for 40 euros, (USD 42,99 / GBP 35,41), including insured shipping.
Is this a helmet that has been overhauled at the Schubert Werk(e), Braunschweig, (Schuberth plant(s) in Braunschweig), and which has been (over)painted?
White color stamping in the dome of the shell:
8415-12-127-1077
SH 57-61 10/88
Stamping inside the liner:
8415-12-127-0507
Size 58 SH-8 93
Size stamp also: 58
The helmet came with a helmet net / camouflage net which I'm not sure if it actually fits this helmet...
In any case, the helmet camouflage net is probably designed for a smaller helmet size. ...
All in all, this helmet is a hardly worn piece in very good condition with minor signs of storage and wear.
I think I bought this jump helmet at a good price!
I would be very happy to receive further information!
Thanks and regards,
R
Hello,
a nice late M1A1LL.
At Schuberth Werke Braunschweig (SH) in October 1988 overhauled helmet with lining from 1993.
The M1A1LL were still worn by the Bundeswehr until the end of the 1990s, since the combat helmets made of aramid were not considered suitable for jumping. They first developed their own model, which was introduced in 2000/2001.
The helmet net is the 1st NVA model. This was applied in the Bundeswehr after 1990.
Regards
Hi everyone, yesterday the main militaria show was held in Ottawa, being held 3 or 4 times a year. Anyway I found two wonders of a helmet! The first, found in less than 10 minutes once in, is this marvellous German M1A1LL helmet. I won't go in any details, simply showing a few pictures to share my delight. Enjoy!
The cradle is dated 1969, pictures a bit cheesy, taking with a tablet.
The cover was tailored nicely with a jacket hood.

Here is a very early M1A1LL from the 1958 test phase.
The helmet bell was still made by the Swedish company Eskiltuna Stålpressnings AB.
The inner lining is a test model. Light-colored plastic ring, white pads and unpadded headbands with a red stitching.
The helmet cover was tailored from splinter camouflage.
Received another M1A1 LL .
Manufacturer:
VDN SCHWERTE, (VEREINIGTE DEUTSCHE NICKEL-WERKE AG), "Model 1A1 LL (Parachutists)"
I'm assuming that this helmet should be a copy that is still in its original manufacturing condition.
The helmet is stamped in the rim of the helmet on the front with: VDN87
The stamping in the lining:
Gr. 8470-12-127-0506
57 VDN B Oct.87
in the rectangle.
The lining is stamped with the size 57.
White ink stamp 57-61 in the front of the dome near the edge.
The press stud of the Sturmriemen (chin strap) is blackened and smooth, the counterpart is not marked by the manufacturer.
