Article about: So I recently got this M1C, it seems to be a South American reworked helmet. However I'm not sure, I don't see any identifying marks on the liner or shell other than the two in the photos. A

    So I recently got this M1C, it seems to be a South American reworked helmet. However I'm not sure, I don't see any identifying marks on the liner or shell other than the two in the photos. Any information would much appreciated.

    I believe that is Spanish, rte-used US stock acquired in the 1950s. I have several of these and they all have that coloured patch on the underbrim of the liner (must denote some formation). The best reference for these on the web is here - ESPAÑOL M1 PARACAIDISTA - if you have no Spanish open it in Chrome and use autotranslate.

    Thank you! Now that I look at it the liner chinstrap setup is very similar to my Spanish M65 never thought of that.
