    Hello
    here : model 48/62, used from 1956 to the 90s. First painted black, then green from 1971.
    This is not a paratrooper helmet, but intended for mechanised troops and motorcyclists.
    GI = manufacturer ; 78 = year of manufacture
    The helmet with Croatian insignia is a model 48 of British origin with a RAC cap. 48 being the year of acquisition of a batch of British helmets while waiting for the Swiss manufacture.

    The Croats have not only equipped themselves with Swiss helmets, but also with helmets from the stocks of the former NVA.

    You are showing us a Swiss Schutzhelm Modell 1948/62 (protective helmet model 1948/62)
    Used by tank drivers, paratroops and motorcyclists.

    SUIZO 48-62

    The version of the helmet you show here should be the version for dispatch riders.

    Helmets M1948/62 were actually often used by Croatian units.
