I noticed the different fabric chinstraps. The pre updated version looks to me like the one on this so maybe they kept some of their old chinstraps, however I have no evidence of this it’s just an observation. This picture is an m26/56 and the strap appears to be the same, one thing different though is that the buckle was at one point painted black on mine and I don’t think someone random would paint that on themselves after the fact.
the helmets used in the movie "WE WERE SOLDIERS" showed North Vietnamese wearing these , they look good enough as props for the movie.
