Can anybody help me with this?

This is a picture of my Great-Grandfather who served in the Russian army during the Russo-Japenese war,and ww1.He fought in the Polish army during the Polish-Soviet war.This picture was taken before ww1 in Wladiwostok.Can anybody tell me his rank,regiment and what kind of uniform he is wearing in the picture?And also what kind of gear he would of been issued?

Looks like he wears the two rank bars on the shoulder boards for a Junior Sgt.

Always a bit problematic to judge colours on b/w photos, but it appears to be field service shoulder straps and collar tabs on his greatcoat, i.e. khaki or greyish brown. As mentioned, two rank stripes for Jr Sgt. The stripes came in red or dull orange on field service straps (or simply ink-marked). No numerals or initials visible on them, so it's impossible to say anything more about what unit he belonged to, I'am afraid. Probably khaki field service visor with EM or possibly NCO pattern RIA cockade.
