The authentic cross is very rare and it's made of gold.

So you believe this one is a fake, it’s could be a lower rank or late made?

I'm not an expert, I don't know it's provenance, I don't know what it's made from, so I can't say if it's a fake or not. This award is a rare gold cross for officers, there were made just some hundreds awards. I've found no info about lower ranks, bit it's possible to buy white metal copies in online shops.

Ok, this one is silver plated, I found it in a flee market in Nice for 20 French francs about 3 euro.

These copies (fake) souvenirs - made in the 1990s for gullible tourists.
* exactly the same copies exist in metals: brass, silver-plated brass (you) and in low-grade technical silver.
