PS: Don't know if this helps but I tested it with a strong magnet and it didn't pick it up and tried bending it (gently) to see if it was pewter but didn't bend (silver?).
I know this is very subjective but that really does not have the look of even low quality silver. Once you become familiar with silver you recognise a very particular lustre although in a photograph nickel does look very close. In this case I would suspect a low quality non-ferrous "pot metal".

okay thanks watch dog, but it is non magnetic since I tested that.
You reckon its worth doing a acid test considering I cant return it.

That depends on whether it would cost or if you can do it yourself.

I would be absolutely stunned if this was anything other than pot metal let alone silver.

I would agree with Mark, that appears to be a casting seam around the rim. A lot of Imperial Russian medals have been faked.

Sadly the number is quite badly scratched up, but I believe its something like "No. 10220?3" I might be able to take a better picture when it arrives.
Either way I got it for $26 AUD.
    Any help is appreciated.

PS: it was listed as a "ww2 Russian medal".

This is a homemade cast fake! You can just throw away this ugly item.
