Interesting Type 30/United States Merchant Marine

Gents,

Good Morning!

I wanted to post this recent acquisition and it seemed interesting enough to have a training model Type 30 with some embellishments. Was wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this one? For sure a souvenir.

Included, a neat Merchant Marine ID disc. If I may add, an interesting tape like coating on the scabbard as well.
Happy to see any additional information any one else can provide.
