Default Spanish M26 Helmet "Trubia con Ala"

My Spanish M26 helmet arrived today. This helmet was originally made in Trubia, Spain prior to the civil war and subsequently referred to as the Trubia "con Ala" with wings. This model differed from the M21 which had no "wings" side skirt to protect the neck. These helmets were recalled at the end of the war to be refitted with new liners, a front bracket with Eagle device and painted green as per 1943 regulations under the Franco regime. This particular helmet has a glossy paint job so it was probably repainted again by someone possibly a collector. It does however retain the original rivets including the hollow chinstrap rivet. The replacement rivets after 1943 tend to be flat like the ones on my M21. Nonetheless it makes for a nice display along my M21 and M30 helmets.

This is what a civil war era M26 helmet looks like. No front bracket, rounded rivets, and painted concrete grey. These helmet were worn by both sides of the conflict so they are sometimes found with either Falange insignia or Communist / Anarchist insignia painted on the front.
