Hi!
Actually it's 35M and not M38. M38 was used by the finnish army. Your helmet was a civil defense 'B' type fire service helmet for volunteer firemen. The siluett of the alu ridge is still visible.
its very beatiful, here where i live (Argentina) its not easy to find an Hungarian helmet of any model, a shame, cause i like the hungarian helmet, but i prefer the spanish Z-42.
Hi Guys!
This is a recent addition. One of the best hungarian helmets out there without a doubt. MAVAG62 combat helmet with original camo paint of green, brown, yellow and tan and an original wire attachment is also present. Helmet named to a certain Alberth Tari and was found in Austria.
Late war, double maker marked hungarian helmet. GY64-MAVAG64. Rarer type with GY style rear loop. Line seems to be period replaced since it's factory liner could be a late war type aswell. Retains 95% of matte, greenbrown factory paint and has been overpainted in a yellowish field green and was camoed with some grey green. Found in Austria.
hi easternwarfront. i like the thread that you made here on the hungarian m35. i have a finnish m38. and now would like to get a hungarian m35 but seem unable to find any are these helmets becoming rare and hight priced now. or can you still find a good one now again. thanks mark
Hi Mark!
Not easy to find these army green ones indeed. I use to acquire 3-8 per year and never sell any. There are some finnish M38s out there but most of these are postwar modified ufortunetly.
Cheers
Attila
