This is the Person that was responsible for this horrendous crime Adolf Diekmann .

Diekmann was a very close friend of RKT SS Sturmbannfuhrer Helmut Kampfe commander of III (Gep ) DF whose kidnap by the resistance set in motion the events that led to the Oradour tragedy , Diekmann was Killed in Normandy whilst deliberately exposing himself to MG and Mortar fire and as far as i can recall the Obersturmfuhrer commanding 3 Kompanie was either Killed or severly wounded in Normandy and could not be traced post war !
