Since seeing this snapshot in H-G Guderian's history of the 116 Panzer Division, I'd wondered if the old chapel had survived in Houffalize. I was thrilled to find it, 'off the beaten track' at the back of the town. The location makes sense for the 116th's rearguard action in mid-January 1945 - covering both the towns' southernmost Ourthe bridge and along the Rue de la Gare. The chapel has been beautifully restored but the Panther was scrapped long ago, and only the bus stops there now.....
