Default Border guard jacket in Berezka camouflage.

This arrived today from Ukraine, it fits very well and i'm pretty happy with how comfortable it is and it's layout. It's apparently a soviet border guard jacket in Berezka (birch) camouflage, it has the border guard tabs on the collar but no other markings or insignia apart from the tag, which if im not mistaken, appears to be dated 1988. Does anyone else have any info on this? It also had a small piece of paper in one of the pockets with a strange cyrilic Russian word written on it, which loosely seemed to translate to "whispered". Do you think this is just an anomaly or random trash, or that it may have had some sort of significance like a code word?

Nice looking jacket. The piece of paper was probably meant to be swallowed after memorizing. Perhaps the border pass code word. Either that, or it's his drycleaner's receipt.

Good score yours is the only other I've seen Cheers for showing.
I have one too no insignia, I don't know a lot about these either (I personally call it "The Atari patt"), but I think yours is dated '91 could be wrong though.
Here's my '90 tag for comparison - Ukrainian mfg.

I think you're right about the date, I'm not the best at reading info from these tags, but my tag is similar to yours so it looks like it was manufactured in Ukraine, the seller told me that these were made by 5 different factories throughout the soviet union. Even though the border guard tabs are present on the collar, do you think this was made right before the dissolution of the USSR or immediately after? I understand that this camo pattern was used well into the 90s by the Russian federation and is still in use in some units and variations to this day.

Would have been before as it happened 26 December 1991
Plus I've always identified this patt to the Spetznaz

Here's a couple of tags from the mesh version of this camo

I've seen plenty of the mesh versions around online but not very many of the "solid" versions like the afghanka. I actually found a cap in the same camo that matches the jacket, but i doubt i'll ever find a pair of pants in my size in this camouflage.

Can't wait to see your cap. Trousers are always the hard part!
