Salty but interesting , the stars are normal for a Polkovnik (large from the rank of major, Starchiï ofitserskiï sostav).

Very nice J.S. I congratulate you on your find.

The shoulder boards are interesting as they are pentagonal, as opposed to hexagonal, which is the regulation of 1943 for all NKVD related commanding structure service/parade shoulder boards. Whilst an anomaly, this is not the first time I have seen this.

...and now that I have further studied J.S.'s shoulder boards, judging by the edgings and overall construction, I believe that they may have been made in Germany for reparations.

    This is a possibility Richie

However it can be seen that the piping of the neck is made of the same material , how is the inside of the jacket ??

Hi Richie, thank you for your answer. this is actually an original feature of this pair of shoulder boards. on parade models it is quite rare, especially on a Kitel.
one might think that with this type of tunic , regulations will be respected more carefully.
    Regards.

Aleksander, the awards did not come with the tunic. I bought the kitel and a M43 gym of the same officer, Unfortunatly in a very salty condition.
