Maker should be Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.
Please, show us the other side of the Armeedolch.

In my opinion a devalued original, too bad ...

Yes, has it's origin in a WW1 era knife, but modified probably fairly recently, the spanner screws are new, could be a new blade, painted and swastika added. Grip plates and scabbard are original.

WKC has produced in the 1916-18 area this type of fighting knife, typical bowie shape and they used aluminium spanner screw in the gripplates and the black paint after the regulations requered that they would come in black.
they come with and without the Knight and kings head logo.
This one seems to have had a work over looking at the blade, but its known that during the Weimar period swatika's were added to the blade.
This one seems to be stamped, which speaks in its favor.
The scabbard paint i have no issues with, seems pretty original.
To compare one with alu spanners (alu snapbutton) in war black edition.

    Hi Gerritt,
You show us a nice army dagger here!
It was equipped with staghorn scales, (grip plates) probably at the request of the buyer.

    Regarding the requested army dagger:

    you write
... "but its known that during the Weimar period Swatika's were added to the blade."

Are there any reliable indications that can be proven by contemporary photographs or by working documents from the various manufacturers?
What is the source of your hint?

What I could well imagine is that the owner of such a privately acquired army dagger put a swastika on the blade as a kind of "sympathy sign" during the era of the "Weimar Republic" (or even later).

However, my experience has shown that such "modifications" are always a matter of faith and an "upgrading" of such specimens, actually, should be a "red flag" ...
I personally don't like the rather rough stamping of the swastika.

But, only my two cents ...

    Hi Reibert

the added swastikas i have seen were worn by Freikorps
    member who sympatisted with Hitler
Surely done by the members themselves.
Two of these knives i saw came directly from a house cleaning.
They had stamped swastikas, they differ in size
i saw 1 large and 1 like the one posted.
Both made a very strong authentic impression and looking at rust stains no doubt done in the period.

I know a lot of knives now a days are upgraded with all kinds of stuff but i dont condem this one because it has one.

    Regards
    Ger
