    Hi Al,
    Nice acquisition!
    You may find the answer to your maker question in this thread. Make note of the comments about two screws in the bottom scabbard fitting.

    Many thanks for the useful link Ralph. So I guess this is also a Klaas - not that I am brave enough to take it apart to investigate further. I always have a fear of breaking some fragile part.

    Well the eagles of Luneschloss and Klaas differ, so you can identify them by the Eagle, besides that the Klaas has two sidescrews on the lower scabbard fitting, Luneschloss doesnt.

    I also have a DRK Hewer. I believed it was a Klaas?
    Am I correct that the blades are marked Ges and the components either Klass or PDL?

    Sorry if this is a daft question.

    Yours is the earlier Klaas known as a high brow or round shoulder, only known to be made by Klaas.
