NPEA's are a minefield.
We need way better pics then these...
Close ups from the Motto are needed, but i'm not convinced at first sight
Ask in mm the exact distance from the Logo to the guard, then i will tell you if thats correct for this Logo type.
ask if there is the Horster number under the scabbard stud.

This is supposed to be a Graduation dagger ...but I support Gerrits thoughts of more photos.
The motto especially.
Since its at an auction..it would be impossible to get photos of the tang and internal crossguard markings.
High dollar items require deeper proof before spending !

I think you better leave it where it is.
I have an original graduation dagger marked " Oranienstein Ostern 1939 "
That is a graduation dagger.
Your Fond and logo do not match my dagger.

The statement “NPEA daggers are a minefield” cannot be overstated, particularly a dagger being sold at an auction. This leaves you little to no recourse.
You’d need much better pics of the whole dagger, especially the internal markings. I would agree with Ger, you’re probably better leaving this one for whoever is willing to take chances.
