yes, know about mixed parts HJ daggers, price is hopefully dirt cheap, as I have got a few gems from him for next to nothing, but they have also had high very high end fakes, this item I would keep for a time, sell for a highly exuberant price lo, or likely trade off to a local collector/dealer/friend for something HJ or one of his .22 nazi trainers.

I don't like the chances of the scabbard being authentic, the finial ball crudely brazed on, paint is clearly new. The maker mark looks laser etched to me.
Compare with a good one;

A couple of things give me pause about this dagger. There is a very poor blade shoulder to crossguard fit. The maker mark and crossgrain look odd, might be a Reddick blade.
Also, I don’t like the Spandau school marking on the lower crossguard. I owned a few Spandau daggers and seen plenty online and books and the lettering seems strange to me.
The top crossguard inscription is hard to comment on since it isn’t really pictured well. The 1943 date is interesting, which I believe would be far later than similar Spandau daggers in this inventory number range.
If forced to make a comment on authenticity, I’d guess it’s a humped up fake.
