Article about: Found this red cross hewer in an Antiques store in Austin TX .

    When did you find that in Austin? 20 years ago, no worries. 20 days ago, means I might need to get out and beat the bushes more.

    Very nice been there look..the portapee may have been picked up by a Soldier and in order to carry it draped it around the hewer. Either way I like both. Great pick up..

    I was inAustin last november and i found the hewer in a huge antiques store with some US militaria . I also bought a strippedUS jacket from ww2. Perhaps you know the place ? The heWer was expensive but I could not resist to buy it as a souvenir.

    If you remember either the name of the store or what street it was on, please post or PM me. I really don't devote the time to local prospecting, but it might be worthwhile to make an occasional stop if stuff like that is still popping up.
