Article about: The helmet in the photos has a stamp that I cannot find. Any thoughts on the maker of the specimen?

    Hello Sandowner,

Chinstraps were factory sewed starting in 1954
The pads also seems to be late production
I fear many elements will qualify this helmet for beeing a late production

    Hope this will help

Thank you, Bruno. While I am disappointed that the helmet is post WWII, that is totally offset by what I have learned. That is what really counts. I am sure that I can locate an earlier example. I will post a few other helmets from my collection in time.

    Hello Sandowner

The M40 are definitively the most trickiest helmet to collect due to their long duration in time and finding a real WW2 one if far from being easy.
Maany of them were also refurbished after war wich make them even more difficult to find
Paradoxicaly M39 may be easier to find due to the larges stocks captured by the germans

    Happy if it has helped

    All the very best

    Bruno
