SSh39 with flash

I was wondering if anyone has encountered something like this before? It looks to be a nice SSH-39 with a 1941 date code on it. What is interesting is a flash on the side, first thought was a Belorussian flag? Also opinion on the helmet itself, it looks to be good from the knowledge I have but it is always good for more eyes.

Can’t comment on the side marking, but it’s a very interesting helmet indeed! I’m no expert on 39’s but the liner seems to be made out of the proper materials to me, and stamp looks like the one on mine. IMO I’d say it’s a good helmet.

Helmet is a very nice original and complete SSH-39 dated’41. No idea what the flag on the side is, interesting. Kevin

Strange but I learnt yesterday that a Belarusian unit in Ukraine is fighting under this flag, and looking now its a re-use of the pre-Soviet era flag.

Working that back there was a use of this flag in the German occupied Belarus.

That's not to pass comment on the originality, but does identify the flag.
