“Ooo-tse”. Could mean something, could just be initials. Kevin
Yeah, I have a couple pieces of Soviet headgear with two Cyrillic letters on the inside of them, almost certain they are just initials of the owner
If initials I would expect three letters (patronymic name always included).
Do these initials mean something in Yugoslavian since multiple helmets had the same initials and to me the way the star is painted it reminds me more to Yugoslavian than Soviet?
Can the У in УЦ stand for Yugoslavian?
Hello Marcel, the theory about the helmet being Yugoslavia may make sense. the star really looks different. But I don't know if Yugoslavia wore Ssh68 helmets, as they had their own helmet models. But I think it might be possible too
In Russian, Yugoslavia would start with Ю, not Y, it’s Югославия. Now if it was written by a Yugoslavian, I guess it would be in Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, etc, and I have no idea how it would be spelled in those languages.
Yes it's true, right after I made my last comment, I went to research how to spell Yugoslavia in Russian, Serbian and etc ...
In none of these languages do initials make sense.
So I think it is not very plausible that it is related to Yugislavia.
