What liner is this? Ssh-36 helmet
Gentlemen,
Take a look at the liner from this model 36 helmet for sale. I have not seen that exact type before. No ink stamps either, which means it has probably been repainted.
What do you think? Have they used a liner from another model of helmet? Can you identify it?
Regards,
Gus

Polpara,
I have been checking the liners, and yes, the pattern of the holes on the linersĀ“ tongues is exactly like the one in italian helmets. Spot on.
I wonder how on earth it ended up being placed in a model 26 soviet helmet.
Thank you very much for your reply.

Gus

Re: What liner is this? Ssh-36 helmet
This is just a guess but I have heard that during the Spanish Civil War, helmets were repaired and fitted with whatever was available. As far as I know both helmet models found their way into the Civil War so maybe this is the case here?

The soviet SSch-39 can have the similar liner to the Italian, but this one looks to me Italian and the helmet repainted/refurbished.

Dimas,
Thanks for your comment. That is what I thought too (regarding the paint).
As for the liner being replaced during the SCW, it is perfectly possible,as both helmets saw action in that war, even though I have never seen a soviet helmet with an italian liner of that era before.
