I think it's actually the other way,the story is what makes an item and also the reason an SS helmet is more collectable than a Heer and as for the price"Aussie Guy",it was cheap.

If it’s the story you’re interested in, I’m sure you’ll find many Hitler owned EK1 to collect. It’s not the story that makes an SS helmet worth more, it’s the actual history of the item. Also bullet holes usually result in bleeding, but that’s just my opinion. But if you’re happy with it, no worries.
