    Litzmannschtadt,
Yes. Really. There is confirmation from European colleagues that this belt is a reproduction. Well, here's a fake in my book. But this type of belt did exist? As they say in Russia, " a spoon of tar in a barrel of honey")

One reproduction isn’t that bad. I believe you tried to have zero fakes.
Angolia’s buckle book has dozens of fakes and fantasy buckles. He had to know lots of the buckles were bad.
The Bob Evans book might be the worst. Lots of nice buckles but at least 10 fakes. A bunch of repainted and probably refinished buckles. He polished some original buckles. It looks like he cut the tabs off some buckles just for the photos. The prices he showed weren’t based on the true market value at the time.

Frankly speaking, tropical belts are not in my area of interest. I was sure of their authenticity and only wanted to show in the book that there were such belts. I think that for all other subjects in the book there should be no questions.

My book just arrived today. Looks fantastic and I'm not even a buckle guy! Nice clear photos and laid out well. Packaging was great. And shipping to the US was around two weeks.

    Thanks Stas!
