Trying to look into it for you. I believe it’s a railway buckle of some sort. Looks rather crude but I’ll keep trying. Definitely looks period to me though.

In my opinion, this buckle has no association whatsoever with the NSDAP. Instead, simply a fashion accessory from a time when in Europe and North America, the swastika was seen as a good luck symbol.

It could well be, I have no idea. It's obviously had a bit of a life somewhere. Where the pin rests on the top swastika is well worn. The stampings on the back had always intrigued me.
From the shape of this buckle I would suggest it is from the nineteenth rather than twentieth century. As said the swastika is a good luck symbol rather than a darker connotation.
More than likely the buckle isn't from the Third Reich period. Here is a few in my friend Garry's collection and they may or may not be Third Reich.
