Funny, but the buckle in the book looks like it is yours - only yours is not polished ...strange. What do you think - is it the same ?
You have a sharp eye. I think you are right. Looking under the right wing and under the swastika wreath there is some dirt/solder trace or the like. They are the same on both buckles.

    Indeed.
Including strikes traces on the swas arms.
Why ? Have no clue, again a puzzle.

    Alex.

PS: Could state with idea of some stamp's flaws but there are a very similar spots of dirt too.
Strangely to see it on the polished piece.

Hi Alex, now it has been in a book it must be worth more

It is a great looking buckle and one I had not seen before until your thread.

I am learning a lot about buckles recently due to all these great threads.

    Cheers, Ade.

    This is interesting.

Attached is an image of a buckle which is being openly advertised as a fake on a well known German auction site.

Different of course in many ways from yours, although eerily and coincidentally, with some strange similarities.

    Regards,

    David

i recently bought the pocket book where the buckle is published. two things struck me : the reverse of the buckles wasn't added and the strange pricing scale for some items ...

Great old thread. Real or fake it is a great looking buckle. The eagle reminds me of one I saw on a German bugle. Can’t remember if it was SA HJ or another organization.
