Article about: Picked this one up. I have always wanted an M1A1. This is an extremely early one I believe. 1st block production 48404 serial number and August 1942 barrel date. That should put it at one of

    Thanks sir. All first block factory original except the M1 Garand. S'G' 1,800,XXX, Inland 241,XXX and Garand 90,000 refitted.

    I like the early ones.

    Great to see so many of these milsups now cherished collector pieces. Prices sure have skyrocketed the past few years I as well as others have noticed! Untouched examples sure commanding a premium. Have mentioned that Type 99 a friend bought for $25 back in 1972! Those days sure gone now. Again thanks for the fine pics from all.
