Article about: Been after one of these for quite a while but refused to pay current market price (much like the m1 garand). One question to the springfield 03 guys.. Is the sling original?

    The rifle went through a rebuild at Red River arsenal. You picked up a nice one. I will look at my 1918 sling to help with the that issue.

    Looks like you got one in really good condition. Always interesting to read the markings and stampings. Built like a tank and should be a blast to shoot.

    This is entirely new to me. I have several mausers, mosins, Carcanos etc but my first American bolt action milsurp.

    That's a sweet looking rifle Darren. I think the sling has had a repair. The brass hooks were on the ww1 slings and the steel were on the ww 2 slings. I'm not sure o the date of the switch, but that's the rule of thumb my friend goes by. One day I might even get a chance to take pictures of my 03A3 lol. Too bad you missed all the cold weather up here. Hope your cold weather is warmer
