Hello to all,
I thought I would post a few pictures of this G.33/40 and a k98 bayo.
The rifle has been used post war by the Norwegian Police.
A tidy little number, although it can be faulted because of the post war Norwegian Police marking (on the receiver) it's still in 7.92mm un-like Norwegian post war used K98s for example.
The serials match except for the bolt, the bolt being a G.33/40 not a K98 one.
The bayo is nothing to write home about, serials don't match but it's the same marker and year of manufacture (1939)
Of interest on the bayo the die stamp was for some time broken so the E in E.u.F. looks like an F.
I have read some time ago, I don't know if this is true but makes an interesting story that these rifles were used by the Norwegian Transport Police on the commuter trains one rifle per train, not for dealing rather harshly with fare dodgers but to ward off Moose that got pie eyed on apples that had fermented and then sometimes strayed on the railway tracks with disastrous consequences.
