Hi guys, i agree with this theory. That's why IMO the name is not carved on the wood. That wouldn't be allowed and it would cause the soldier a punishment. The usual practice was just to write your name on a sticker so that you wouldn't mark the gun permanently with your name as it would be given to someone else after your service duty was over.
