If proof were needed of the ability of the British soldier and his trusty bondook, here is an extract from the war diary of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers dated October 14th, 1914. The action took place at Bur Bur (Burbure) in France.
'There was V. heavy firing all day, culminating shortly after dark (6:30pm) in the enemy charging our LEFT - About 600 enemy cheered, & about 60 charged - D & B Coy accounted for all but a few by rifle fire'.
I rely like that. makes sence!. I didn't think about that? for told is for warned!! and the last one left can spread the word!
WOW! now that is great shooting. and the rest that did not charge and witnessed the killing were privy to what was in store for them.
I'LL try again- what models are they?
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
No1 Mk111 & No4.
