    Yep would have bet my eye teeth on it being Mitchells. Check out K98k Forum to get some great info on 98ks. Often some come up for sale in the Trader section. Guns are honest examples. Check it out as you will learn much. Been over there for years myself. Best of luck finding an original example.

    Glad to be of help. I am not an expert by far on these 98k rifles but have been studying up over on K98k Forum. Info is free and helps on what to look for. So many out there selling mis-represented milsurp gun and are often dishonest. A shame indeed but always sellers out there trying to make a dishonest buck. When something becomes a collector item the fakers will try to take advantage.
