Nice wartime pieces Replace! Got the same year and 243 code 98k as my dad's bringback. Mine is stamped with an "H" on stock for army issuance. Is yours shootable or a deact over there in Denmark? Matching examples highly sought after over here by collectors. Like the other flare guns you posted. Have not seen these before. Thanks for sharing.

In Denmark it is no problem to have a shootable K98, many hunters and historical-shooters have them...I have had a few.

This one is sadly deact and for display purpose.

In may 1945, over 280.000 German troops were stationed in Denmark.
...much equipment and weapons were left here.

    Very nice.

Is the scope original to the rifle? Or added on?

I was not aware that the Kriegsmarine used scoped rifles.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

    Hi

The scope is not original to this rifle. (scope/mount is original)

To me, it would make great sence - if the Kriegsmarine soldiers who manned the Atlanticwall, also would have some scope mounted K98's.
