    Here I show you my original Type-56-1, while it isn't number matching, the chamber, barrel, stock and sights that are matching all are beaten to death so to say.

    All are very worn and slightly rusty, topcover has the exact same wear but isn't matching so either coincidence or field swap.

    Gastube sadly is a mint condition one so I'll replace that soon with a worn one.

    Hi,
    Nice piece, but the lower handguard seems to be Polish imo. Not Chinese anyway. I'm not sure about the pistolgrip, it is an AK47 one, not a stamped 56-1 (see pic). Weapons used in the Yugo conflict were sometimes re-composed.

    Hi;
    Another pic (plenty on Internet):
    The shape of the pistol grip and lower handguard is different. Nevertherless it is a great gun.

    Picture is indeed better, but my inexperienced eyes fail to see any differences, can you point me in the right direction?

    Chinese stamped 56-1 wood furniture (pistol grip is not checkered and is thiner):

    PS: Chinese don't use laminated wood for their AK furnitures.

    ah okay, now i see it yeah
    ah well, main gun is still a Type-56-1 tho so i dont mind that much'


    Pistol grip does have a K in a circle stamped on the pistol grip, i assume a soviet marking then?

    No, East German! And pretty rare.

    the checkered grip was used on the early models like this Chinese model
