    Default Real MP40?

Found this at an estate sale. They said they were told it was used in a movie but there is no documentation. The Waffenamts make me think it may be real and deactivated.

It has a Steyr 623 Waffenamt on the sight. Late code bnz with a 1943 marking.

Update: Some people have said they feel it is a mix of authentic and post war parts due to there being no open bolt catch or sliding bolt that can be seen from these photos.

As mentioned I have no idea but at the right price, I'd have this hanging on my wall. Repo or not!

Agree. That's one movie prop worth having at the right price.

Bill, I think the receiver is a replica. As was noted elsewhere there's no bolt catch and no slide for the bolt either unless it's a heavily modified receiver.

Haven't gotten it yet, but it is also a mix of parts from multiple guns.

I can’t really add much, but the lower receiver/fore grip looks like Bakelite to me.
